Intermountain Materials Testing has been operating in the Tri Cities area continuously since 1997. The firm was founded by Marianne and Michael Boring and operated out of offices in Richland providing construction materials testing and inspection services for nearly six years. During that time, the Borings and their staff developed the client relationships that remain an important part of the foundation for IMT's ongoing business success today.

Following an ownership transition in 2003, the firm moved to a new office and laboratory space in Pasco. We grew out of that space in a few short years and constructed a new, 7,000 square foot office and laboratory facility nearby that was completed in the spring of 2009. The move to a larger, more modern space was necessary to provide an expanded scope of service with a larger staff more efficiently. Fortunately, due to the efforts of our dedicated staff and the continuing loyalty of our clients, we have continued to grow in excess of our expectations.
In January of 2015, we expanded our area of service and opened a new office and laboratory in Spokane Valley. We are now able to serve clients throughout all of Eastern Washington and North Idaho in a prompt and cost effective manner.

We have continually added services to our scope of operations since the firm’s inception, most significantly with the addition of geotechnical engineering services beginning in 2009. Our scope is more comprehensive than any of our competitors in the region. The result is an efficient and complete geotechnical and testing agency, able to serve our clients from the design phase through the construction phase seamlessly.
